October 25

This week students continued learning about exploration, including the reasons for seeking new land, the empires involved and the challenges faced by Jacques Cartier and Samuel De Champlain. We also looked at the interactions between Jacques Cartier and Chief Donnaconna.
In addition to this, students created a scary short story, about a haunted house. This will be marked and entered into PowerSchool next week.
Next week, students will begin learning about the fur trade and why it is significant to formation of Canada.
